Good afternoon Whitin Families,

Happy New Year to all our Whitin Families. We wish everyone a great start to the new year and look forward to welcoming students and staff back to school on Monday, January 5th.

Students will be participating in the I-Ready winter diagnostic during the following weeks in January.

Reading: January 5-9

Math: January 12-16

All students in grades 4-7 will be taking the reading and math diagnostics. These assessments will be taken in their classrooms durning the school day.

Individual student results will be shared with families in February.

Newspaper Club: The Whitin Intermediate School newspaper club will be meeting Tuesdays after school until 2:50 pm. Attendance is not required at every meeting. Students will submit material through Google Classroom. The first meeting will be on December 2nd.

The newspaper will be published online periodically (pun intended). Students will contribute articles, interviews, recipes, comics, photographs, and other items of their choosing. Since the newspaper is digital, videos and podcasts will be possible too.
